There’s a saying that not all superheroes wear capes. This is true. Some of us wear a white coat and a stethoscope.
We’re Wonder Mom for our little munchkins, a loving and supporting wife for our hubby, and the go-to specialist for patients. We’re also often the chauffeur, the maid, the chef, the house manager, the organizer of activities and appointments, amongst a ton of other things. In a nutshell, we’re super women—women that handle the pressure of life and a demanding career.
But not only do the roles we play help build the foundation of our homes, and set an example for our loved ones—people who really matter—we’re also the champions that help connect other mothers with what truly matters.
And one of the best ways to connect with one another, and help each other out, is to start a side gig as a blogger.

The Perks of Being a Mommy Doc and Blogger
Surveys show that women are more likely to have a blog than men. Why is that? One of the reasons is that motherhood is a gift that helps us connect with the world around us.
As the champions that balance workload and the household , we set an example for our kids, and other women around us. For our sons, we are their first love and set the standard for the type of woman they want to marry. For our daughters, we set the standard for the type of women they want to be. And for other women? We may inspire them to do something different that improves their lives, give an example for many who struggle with work-life balance, or even show them that it’s ok to not be perfect and we all struggle with the SAME issues.
Starting a blog helps us connect with the world and share our opinions as doctors and mothers, and it helps us understand the perspective and vision of the women we seek to help and understand.

It’s a Supportive Platform
It’s tough being a working mom. And that’s when blogging takes the spotlight. You get to read about the struggles of those who are just like you. You get to read about how they handle the stress that comes with being a working mom. You get to read about what works for them, all while finding out what works for you.
Not every woman is equal. We’re all different individuals, struggling with the pressures of life. And through a common platform, we’re able to support one another, listen to each other, and most importantly, be there for one another.
Even if we don’t know each other, there’s something beautiful about that. Hence, the beauty in being a female blogger something that becomes an essential part of us.

Reach Out to a Wider Audience
Blogging can be a perfect way to connect and reach out to a wider audience around the world. It can also be a vehicle for you to connect with other working moms.
If one of the goals is to share more about your small or home-based business and highlight specific products or services targeted for specific groups of people, blogging can be a fantastic way to do it.
As mommy docs, one of our core values have always been to help others. Blogging can be an incredible platform to share your personal stories and struggles while helping others. You may not know how your personal experiences, or even one blog, may touch one person’s life in an impactful way.

Be Yourself
Honestly, one of the best things about being a blogger is that you get to share your opinions and express your thoughts.
Blogging is the perfect way to release stress as writing can be so therapeutic in so many ways. And what better way to make the most of that experience than to share it on your blog?
In addition, it’s an amazing platform to share everything from your daily routine to your amazing vacation or tips and tricks on things that makes your life easier. It’s the perfect way to express something that has affected you personally, either positively or negatively. You can also blog on something that has helped you develop personally, physically, or emotionally. I definitely plan on doing this as in my own journey to personal and family wellness as a physician. Your blog may help just one person or touch the lives of many people just by sharing your stories and experiences. That is the best part of it all….and makes it ALL worth it.
